As the Costa Del Sol's pioneering holiday resort, cosmopolitan Torremolinos is a mecca for those seeking great entertainment, shopping and cuisine. It's spread along clean beaches lined by an attractive promenade which stretches from Playamar to Benalmadena. 

The old part of town, known as El Calvario, is where the narrow streets are quieter and the bars more sedate. And dotted throughout town you'll find numerous parks and green spaces for a little respite from the hustle and bustle.

And outside of the summer months Torremolinos seems like a different place, with a relaxed, more Spanish ambiance reclaiming the resort. 

For ease of navigation we have divided Torremolinos into three distinct areas,  the Playamar area with Torremolinos town centre , the old fishing town of La Carihuela  and busy Montemar.

Playamar and Torremolinos Town Centre

	The Playamar area of Torremolinos is only minutes from the airport.
	And down on the sea front you can see the endless supply of planes coming into land.
	Its huge wide sandy beach goes on for as far as the eye can see and attracts holiday makers in their droves.
	There are many large hotels and apartment blocks which fill to capacity during the busy summer months.

	La Carihuela is the old fishing quarter of Torremolinos. A pedestrian street runs the length of the village. Although the fishing tradition still continues, many fishermen have swapped their fishing nets for restaurant and beach-bar businesses, to cater for the many tourists who visit the area every year to enjoy its sunny beach and excellent food
	The beach of more than 2 kilometres is noted for its cleanliness, excellent offer of beach beds sun-shades and most of all for it´s famous beach restaurants called "chiringuitos" where the best and freshest Mediterranean sea-food is served.
	The Promenade runs parallel to the beach and connects with the Port of Benalmadena, with it´s distinctive architecture, well known lively night life, shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants.

	This bustling area of Montemar benefits from all year round tourism trade. There are 6 large British hotels plus a huge number of holiday partments.
	The area itself is a stones throw away from the popular Benalmadena Marina and is a lively daytime and nightime resort with its varied and well frequented bars and restaurants.
